Achieving DIY nails that look like they came from a high-end boutique requires a methodical approach. Follow these steps to master the gradient and the 3D floral application.
Step 1: Preparation is Everything
Begin by prepping your natural nails or extensions. This look looks best on an almond or oval shape, as it elongates the fingers and provides a graceful canvas for the flowers. Push back your cuticles, buff the surface lightly to remove shine, and apply a high-quality base coat. Cure under a UV/LED lamp for 60 seconds.
Step 2: The Base Color Layer
Apply two thin coats of the soft rose pink gel to your index, middle, and ring fingers. On your thumb and pinky, apply two coats of the teal shimmer gel. If you are using a magnetic "cat eye" polish for the teal, use your magnet now to create that celestial, swirling effect seen in the image. Cure each layer thoroughly.
Step 3: Creating the Ethereal Ombre
On the fingers with the pink base, it’s time to add the "ocean." Apply a small amount of the teal shimmer gel to an ombre sponge. Lightly dab the teal onto the tips of the nails, moving about halfway down the nail bed. Use a clean side of the sponge to blur the line where the teal meets the pink. Pro Tip: It’s better to do two very thin layers of sponging rather than one thick one to avoid bubbles. Cure after you are happy with the blend.
Step 4: Sculpting the 3D Hibiscus Flowers
This is where the magic happens. Take a small bead of 3D molding gel (about the size of a peppercorn). Place it on the nail where the pink and teal meet. Using your silicone tool or a brush dipped in a tiny bit of alcohol (to prevent sticking), press the bead flat and then "pull" the edges to create a petal shape.

- Use a fine liner brush and yellow gel to add the "stamen" (the long center of the hibiscus) and a tiny dot of gold or yellow in the center.
- Once the shape is perfect, cure for a full 90 seconds to ensure the thick gel is hardened all the way through.
Step 5: The Finishing Touches
Apply a non-wipe top coat over the entire nail. Be careful around the 3D flowers—you want to coat the base nail and the flower petals to protect them, but don't let the top coat "flood" the details of the petals, or you will lose the 3D definition.
